I Love who I am with Mrs. L
I first met Mrs L via. Instagram, she had been sharing images of herself and was on her journey to loving who she was and accepting where she is in life. We exchanged a couple of messages about working together, due to an unfortunate battle I had with a couple large waves in the ocean I was unable to shoot for about 5-months (dislocated shoulder and broken ribs), so the couple of messages grew into several months of anticipation.
Finally, it was all coming together, we had a shoot scheduled.
The day of the shoot arrived and I started to get more and more nervous, would I do it right, would she be happy with the images etc… I then realized there is nothing to be worried about, I’ve been through lots of training, webinars, workshops, collaborating with other photographers, etc. I got this. As it turns out she felt the same way, how will the images come out, will I feel sensual, elegant and will I walk away ready to take on the world?
The answers:
Yes
Yes
and Yes!
I asked Mrs. L to provide me with some feedback as it is important for me to understand how my clients feel, are they comfortable, are they confident, are they relaxed and most of all are they happy they chose me to work with. After all, boudoir is a private session and your comfort and trust in me is most important.
“I was a bit apprehensive having a boudoir session with a male photographer, but I’m so glad I did. Scott was nothing but professional the entire time, we talked, we laughed, he guided me through the entire experience and I cannot wait to shoot with him again.”
I pulled into the driveway and as I sat in the car thinking, I can do this, I can do this, I can do this, I saw Scott come out of the house to greet me, well no turning back now! Scott met me outside, we exchanged pleasantries and I knew right away this was going to be great. Once inside, Scott showed me around his old farmhouse, we talked about our families and life in general. We walked into his studio and I instantly fell in love with it. A fireplace, throws, sheers, candles, pillows he had everything, (I kinda think his wife helped decorate but don’t tell him that haha).
What really caught my eye though was a frame in the corner, so I asked what that was for, well let me tell you it was the most amazing thing ever! I wont explain it, I’ll let the images do all the talking…
Working with a photographer can always bring mixed feelings. I wonder what their style is like (not talking images but how they perform), their process and if it’ll be weird (when it’s a male photographer). Scott was amazing, he mapped out our session before it started and explained the different sets we could shoot. He immediately made me feel comfortable. When he offered to shoot a shower scene, I knew I didn’t have to awkwardly say no because I was in a safe environment and love the results.
I’m so happy that I decided to work with Hansen Boudoir, I am totally in love with the images, the experience and most of all, I love who I am. I am a confident curvy woman that knows I can be sexy, sensual and elegant.
I can’t thank Mrs. L enough for all of her kind words. This is why I shoot boudoir, I love hearing how wonderful it makes you feel. Women have enough pressure put on them to have that perfect body, to be flawless, to be that ‘model wife or girlfriend’, nonsense!!! We are all perfect in our own way and it is time that we accept who we are and where we are in our journey through life. It is time to celebrate you.
